A UNIQUE APPROACH TO WEDDING FILMS

KEY THINGS.

Story is at the heart of all my wedding films.

Inconspicuous approach to capturing your memories.

Three Cine Cameras for unparalleled quality and reliability.

Never rushed – each wedding is mastered over two weeks of editing.

what’s in your bag?

If there’s one thing that people soon realise about me, it’s that I’m relentless. It’s not just that I want to be the best, it’s that I want to offer the best as well:
the best audio; the best visuals; the best storytelling; the best films.

Because of this, I’ve invested heavily in my business – to admittedly alarming levels.

I run three small cinema cameras at my weddings. These cameras are unique to the wedding industry. Most wedding videographers opt for photo-centric cameras, which can overheat during longer recordings; suffer from poor dynamic range and produce choppy looking footage due to the lack of internal ND filters. That was never going to cut it for me, so instead, I bought three cinema cameras.

Then there’s the drone: a DJI Mavic 4 Pro – the best in the industry, unless you account for drones that are the size of a small car. It’s heavy – at over 1kg – four times heavier than the drones most videographers in the industry use, which means that my drone moves through gusts of wind with ease. This simply means that I can produce incredible visuals on a wedding day, whether on the ground or in the air.

Then there’s the audio. I use some of the smallest lavaliers in the world, and they’re the best lavalier microphones available today. The cost of my audio set up is equivalent to the cost of a flagship camera.

You may not understand any of this, but in short: it’s the best equipment. Period.

WHERE MY APPROACH HAS TAKEN ME.

My Mum always taught me to, “Treat other people, how you’d like to be treated yourself.” It’s probably the best piece of advice I’ve ever received.
Back in 2017, I was at the end of my first year in business, and I desperately needed a new computer. I’d spent most of my profits that year on hard drives to keep my films safe, but to edit them took an eternity. Apple announced the iMac Pro. It cost over £7K – more than I could afford at the time – but if I wanted to deliver wedding films in 4K, it was the only way I could do it, and be ahead of the industry.
I was on a forum, learning as much as I could about the new iMac Pro. It was there that I met a user on the forum, who had decided to buy the same iMac Pro as me. The problem: we didn’t know when it was going to go live for pre-orders, and we had a feeling it may be through the night while we were sleeping. I decided to pull an all nighter. I was desperate. I said to the user, who I could see was British and facing the same dilemma, that if he private messaged me his number, I’d let him know as soon as the pre-order went live. As a result of this, we both secured our new Macs. After doing so, this forum user, James, asked what I was going to use my iMac Pro for. I shared one of my wedding films, and he said that his wife, the head of communications for the R&D department of a FTSE 100 company, had an idea for a film. He thought that with my unique approach to storytelling, I’d be perfect for the role.

We made that film. It was translated into more than ten different languages, it paid off my new iMac Pro in one swoop and led to a six year working relationship with the FTSE 100 company. The films I produced took me as far as Japan; it funded my dream wedding kit and caught the attention of one of the world’s best wedding filmmakers, Philip White.

Philip, who was moving into photography at the time, asked me to become his videographer – it was a huge honour. Since 2019, I’ve been shooting alongside Philip at many of his weddings. It has taken me all over the globe. We’ve filmed weddings in the Vatican, NYC, LA, Ohio, Dubai, Switzerland, across the Amalfi and France.

If I hadn’t been kind to the gentleman on the forum, who is now a great friend of mine, I may have never had these experiences, and I may have never made it to ten years plus in business. Storytelling, kindness and a whole lot of luck has got me here, and I’m forever grateful.

I’d love to chat to you about your wedding plans.

It’s impossible to run a personable service if I take on too many weddings each year; that’s why I limit my services to just twenty couples.

By the end of your wedding, I want you to tell me that I was your most valued supplier. One who went above and beyond to create you a set of films that you can cherish for a lifetime.
