North West Wedding Videographer Films Santorini Wedding
Following the success of Jennifer and Luke’s wedding videos on various social media platforms, I was in a fortunate position of being asked to film weddings all over England and Wales. It seemed Jennifer’s reach was everywhere, and I was delighted and humbled to have so many dates being booked up for 2018 and beyond. However, one short email took me by surprise.
Whenever I receive a wedding video enquiry, I absolutely love (LOVE) to see the excitement from a couple when they consider having me as their wedding videographer. It’s an honour to film and create wedding videos for them. Sara and Gareth’s email fitted this mould, and I was so excited by the prospect of filming their wedding in Santorini!
Destination Wedding Videographer
I’ve filmed on multiple occasions in Belgium, with my good friend, NoaFilm. We’ve filmed in the beautiful city of Ghent, and other similarly stunning areas of Belgium. Nevertheless, I’ve always wanted to film a wedding in paradise, and Santorini views appeared to be whimsical! Following a few emails, I went to visit Sara and Gareth at their home in Liverpool. It was clear from our meeting that Sara and Gareth were an absolutely lovely couple, who were just as excited for me to capture their wedding day, as I was to capture it for them. After going through the process of booking with them, Sara and Gareth selected to have an InstaTeaser of their wedding day, along with a sunset shoot the night before their wedding day.
Sunset Shoot in Santorini
After a short flight from Manchester, I was welcomed by Sara and Gareth at the airport - a lovely surprise! They were there to see their relatives and friends arrive, and extended their welcome to me, which was really lovely. I spent the next day scouting their venues, as well as capturing the stunning sunrise and sunsets over Santorini. After sampling the mouthwatering gyros (which I may have eaten every day that I was in Santorini…), as well as seeing the sights of this stunning island, I knew that I was going to be capturing a wedding in paradise! Before long, it was time to go and see Sara and Gareth once more for their pre-wedding sunset shoot!
And what a sunset shoot it was, as we were met by passing clouds and crimson light! The unbelievable views, partnered with Sara and Gareth’s playful sense of humour, created a wonderful moment, as they toasted to their future together as husband and wife. Following many laughs and giggles, the sun soon disappeared behind the jagged, towering hills. The next time the sun would rise, Sara and Gareth would say, “I do”.
Santorini Wedding Video
On a beautiful Santorini morning, Sara and Gareth got ready in their respective apartments. Sara and her bridesmaids treated themselves to what can only be described as, ‘Iron Man facials’, whilst Gareth accommodated his best man, Shaun, by ironing their suit pants. The golden face masks and tears of laughter and joy were a pleasure to capture, and reflected the unassuming, egoless character of the bride and her best friends, who were always up for a laugh and clearly willing to be captured in any form! As Ali G would say back in the day, ‘Respect!’
Saint Irini (Agia Irini) Chapel Wedding Ceremony
Following their face masks, the girls were ready to walk down the aisle towards an excited, albeit hot, groom, who was wearing a three piece suit. Sara’s proud father linked arms with his beautiful daughter, as he prepared to give Sara away to the safe, loving hands of Gareth at the stunning Saint Irini Chapel. A beautiful ceremony ensued, overlooking the deep blue Santorini sea. Gareth, who was smiling enchantedly into Sara’s gaze as she began to cry, delivered a moment of chivalry and calmness that would make James Bond proud. As tears began to flow down Sara’s cheek, Gareth coolly brandished a tissue from his inside pocket to his adoring wife. The two would later debate this moment over a ten pound bet, as Sara believed she asked Gareth for the tissue. Their wedding video quickly absolved this debate, along with the ten pounds from Sara’s purse!
Pyrgos Restaurant Wedding Reception
After a walk through the beautiful old village of Pyrgos, Gareth and Sara were welcomed with a traditional dance at their stunning wedding venue, Pyrgos Restaurant. Here, beautiful speeches were made about the lovely couple from Liverpool, who had travelled to paradise to seal their marriage vows. After smashing plates and partying well into the evening, Gareth and Sara’s dream wedding day came to a close, and a 23 hour flight back home awaited me, due to a delayed flight out of Santorini and a missed connecting flight out of London. Despite this calamitous end to the adventure, I wouldn’t have changed anything about this destination wedding - it was absolutely perfect!
Thank you so much for flying me out to Santorini to capture your wedding day, Gareth and Sara! I will never forget this trip! Thank you making me feel so welcome, and selecting me as your Santorini wedding videographer! May life bring you all the happiness in the world!
