North West Wedding Videographer at Knowsley Hall
Phil and Emma had quite the journey before reaching their wedding day at Knowsley Hall. Meeting whilst Emma was still at school, the two childhood sweethearts had been together for nearly ten years before tying the knot at Knowsley Hall.
In early 2016, I had the pleasure of meeting Phil and Emma over a cup of tea at their home; learning about their relationship and their hopes for a wedding video that captured their day naturally and beautifully. As a self-confessed Disney fanatic, Emma had chosen the perfect location for their wedding day: Knowsley Hall - a beautiful estate, located just outside of Liverpool.
First Dance Practice for Knowsley Hall Wedding Finale
As their date approached, Phil and Emma explained their plans to re-create the dance from the Disney movie, Cinderella. Explaining their love for the camera work in this Disney masterpiece, Phil explained that he'd love for the first dance to be shot just like the film. As a solo shooter, a request like this can be quite the task. First and foremost, the dance in Cinderella will have been shot over a number of days - if not weeks - under studio lighting and with a team of the best video and lighting operators in the world - we had to re-create Cinderella's dance in a single take!
Learning to Dance - Phil's got the Moves...
Explaining my great fondness of their first dance idea, whilst also ensuring expectations were realistic, I offered to come along to one of Phil and Emma's dance practices. In doing so, I could learn their dance moves; learn where and when to move around Phil and Emma - just as the camera operator does in the film - but also to learn where I could leave them to dance alone, so that their guests could enjoy their first dance together as husband and wife, and the talented, Parisian-born, Liverpool-based wedding photographer, Hervé Gilet, could capture some fantastic photographs as well. Following a final dance session together, just two days before their wedding day, we were all ready for our big moment at the beautiful, North West wedding venue, Knowsley Hall.
North West Wedding Venue: Knowsley Hall
Home to the Earls of Derby, the Knowsley Hall estate is set within 2,500 acres of privately-owned land. A distinguished venue with welcoming, professional staff members, Knowsley Hall is one of my favourite wedding venues to date and is situated close to my home in Merseyside. Both Phil and Emma were taken by its picturesque landscape and stunning interior and exterior design. Arriving through the entrance gates in the middle of a mild storm, I captured some of these features, before making my way to Emma's bridal suite.
North West Wedding Video: Phil + Emma
Following their morning preparations, Phil and Emma tied the knot in front of their guests in the beautiful ceremony room at Knowsley Hall. The two, love-stricken newlyweds kissed before their family and friends in front of beautiful window light that was pouring in from outside - a stark contrast to the pouring rain that we'd endured that morning!
I thoroughly enjoyed capturing Phil and Emma's wedding day; they were a delight to work with, but most importantly, I think we made a great dance trio in the end as well! Be sure to check out their first dance, which is shown towards the end of Phil and Emma's North West wedding video below.
